Venous Leakage

Venous leakage occurs due to inadequate functioning of the venous valve system, which plays a crucial role in the erection mechanism. In this condition, blood cannot be adequately retained within the penile, leading to difficulties in maintaining an erection. Individuals often report that while an erection may begin, they are unable to maintain it or achieve a sufficient level of firmness.

Diagnosis and Treatment

The diagnosis of this issue is typically made using a color penile Doppler ultrasound. This method evaluates the blood flow within the penile and the function of the valves. When a functional disorder of the valves is diagnosed, venous ligation surgery is usually required. This procedure can correct the venous leakage problem by closing or restructuring the veins.

Risk Factors

Venous leakage is more commonly seen in individuals with diabetes, those with cardiovascular disease, those prone to Peyronie’s disease, smokers, and patients who have undergone cancer treatment.

Combination with penile Enlargement

Sometimes, venous ligation surgery can be performed in conjunction with penile enlargement surgery. However, it is important that both procedures are evaluated separately and performed as needed.
